Kurzbeschreibung: The currently operating AFIS has been in service for approximately 10 years. The Federal Council has recognized the urgency of replacing the outdated AFIS and in its session of 22 December 2010, agreed to the funding request for a new generation AFIS. The AFIS New Generation (AFIS NG) to be procured shall ensure 7day/24 hour operations for national identification of persons and latents from crime scenes for the next 10 years. In order to adapt processes to new framework conditions and requirements as quickly as possible, both the architecture, as well as the functionalities, shall be consistently designed to be modular and flexible. In the areas of methods and standards, continuous implementation of the ACE-V concepts is required. Documentation of work steps and the processing of all information are key to fulfilling these requirements.
